Alcomij was asked by greenhouse construction specialist Van der Hoeven to think along in a project around the organic and therewith pesticide-free cultivation of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers in Australia. An environment characterised by its extremely warm summers with many insects and mild winters. A semi-closed greenhouse system is then, thanks to the optimal possibilities with regard to climate control in the greenhouse, the most suitable solution.

Alcomij’s Euro Nova greenhouse roof system fully tailored to the wishes of the customer
For this project, the Euro Nova greenhouse system from Alcomij is equipped with fully automated facade vents in the so-called corridor. This, in combination with the integration of smart solutions such as air vents with special nylon insect mesh in the roof and a smart rainwater and condensation water discharge, makes it possible to make optimal use of energy and CO2 in accordance with the wishes of this grower.

Assignment
Alcomij was asked by greenhouse construction specialist Van der Hoeven to think along in a project around the organic and therewith pesticide-free cultivation of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers in Australia. An environment characterised by its extremely warm summers full of insects and relatively mild winters.

Innovation by Alcomij
For this project the so-called corridor has been equipped with fully automated facade vents. The greenhouse roof has air vents fitted with special nylon insect mesh. Within this project, the rain and condensation water is separated by means of a smart rainwater and condensation water drainage system.

A semi-closed greenhouse solution

In order to make optimal use of energy and CO2 in accordance with the wishes of this grower, a semi-closed greenhouse solution was chosen for this project.
