Steel structures, developed on a project basis
The majority of the Alcomij steel greenhouse constructions are developed on a project basis using the latest technologies and manufactured using the latest high-tech machinery. This means that, as well as our lightweight steel sub-structure constructions for commercial greenhouses, we also have the expertise necessary to engineer other more complex constructions, such as:
• constructions with multiple cultivation layers;
• constructions with a focus on internal transport;
• constructions for semi-closed greenhouses;
• shed constructions.
Sub-structure constructions
The Alcomij sub-structure constructions supplied particularly for the Venlo greenhouse roof system comply with the latest applicable standards. For global export these constructions are, of course, modified to comply with local regulations.

Technical details
We can supply the trusses in various versions according to the customer’s requirements. The entire construction is galvanised using the hot-dip method and provided with a powder coating, if required.
Steel calculations
Agricultural company activities have transferred increasingly from working areas to halls in recent years. This has consequences for the size, weight and layout. That is why we use the latest TNO/CASTA version for all our steel calculations and for irregular constructions we always use a ‘Finite Element Analysis’ (FEA).
Alcomij’s welders are certified according to the RWC (Responsible Welding Coordinator) for the welding methods used. Alcomij also has NEN-EN-ISO 9001, HORTIQ BRL8001 and FPC EN-1090-1 EXc2 certification.
