To graduate and then find a challenging job. It all is possible, even during times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through a temporary employment agency we got to know this young technical enthusiast who has now joined our Engineering department.

After completing my MBO4 mechanical engineering at the TCR in Schiedam, I went looking for a technical job in the Westland area,” says Ronald. “In my spare time I worked at JS Laadtechniek in Maasdijk|Boskoop. There I actually did everything, up to welding. It was fun working there, but I also wanted to gain experience in other technical areas. A job as a technical draughtsman seemed like something to me. That’s why the temporary employment agency proposed the position of construction engineer at Alcomij. After that it everything went very quickly and I am now working on my first real assignment, digitally reinforcing lattice girders using AutoCad®, under the supervision of Gerhard van Leerdam“.

Ronald himself hadn’t thought of finding an office job straight away. “The information I was able to find online about Alcomij and the job description appealed to me enormously. The introductory conversation with Gerhard also felt good right away. At home my enthusiasm was contagious, so my parents encouraged me to take this job“.

Ronald has been working with us for several weeks now and is a very welcome colleague.
