Friday, 26 September 2025 was a special day for Alcomij. Nearly 250 guests, including local residents, colleagues, suppliers, customers and business relations, gathered to celebrate the official opening of our new industrial building in ‘s-Gravenzande. The event marks not only an important step in the expansion of our production capacity, but also in our ambition to remain a leading manufacturer of greenhouse roof systems and greenhouse structures.
Proud of the result
The opening began with speeches by various speakers who highlighted the reasons for the new construction and the collaboration over the past few months. During the opening, the process from contract signing to completion was explained to those present, with a focus on the collaboration and the progress of the project.
Afterwards, guests enjoyed a diverse range of dishes from the food trucks present and were given the opportunity to take a tour of our new halls. During the tour, it became clear how our existing production halls seamlessly connect to the new building, a result that was only possible thanks to careful planning and collaboration with our partners, including Heembouw.
A complex project, professionally executed
The construction of the new hall was a challenging process. With demolition and new construction taking place in the middle of an operational production site, with a total of around 2,500 lorries driving across the site, this project required precision and cooperation. Thanks to the joint efforts of Alcomij, Heembouw and other partners involved, we were even able to shorten the schedule by ten weeks. An achievement we are particularly proud of.
Sustainable and future-oriented
The new halls have been designed with sustainability, efficiency and safety in mind. This fits in seamlessly with our vision of sustainability and our ambition to support greenhouse builders worldwide with innovative aluminium and steel structures for complex greenhouse projects.
Stichting Jade
During the opening of our new location, we asked our guests to make a donation to Stichting Jade instead of bringing gifts. This foundation offers moments of peace and valuable memories to families of children with cancer. In this way, we combined the celebration of our milestone with a meaningful contribution to families who are going through a difficult time.
